CL - Lifted

So I know this is going to be a controversial song to talk about but I am going to give it a shot.
I ask that people realize it is not my intention to convince anyone not to watch this video.
Now that the disclaimer is out of the way this is obviously about CL's new video "Lifted." I am going
to start on a less controversial front and talk about everything as it is. CL's new video has a mellow almost reggae vibe and is entirely in English as it is intended as CL's American debut.

Now, this is where things get iffy. I know CL really wants to break out into the American
music market but I don't think she should. She is just going to waste her time. The only
Korean artist who has succeeded in the U.S. was Psy and that only happened because
Americans thought "Gangnam Style" was catchy and stupid. The odds of CL making
a name for herself in the U.S. Are almost nonexistent. My concern is she is going to waste
her talent on an industry that doesn't care about her and abandon the one that does.

On top of that, there is the song. Even if that song was sung by a popular American singer
it would still go nowhere. Americans thrive on catchy beats and dance tunes... Which this
definitely is not. This is the kind of song you would hear in a commercial and think nothing of.
The song has no pizazz, no passion, no power... All the things we have come to expect from CL
but don't see in this song.
Check out the video below and let me know what you think.

Tymee - Cinderella

The queen of rap is back!
Just the other day Tymee released "Cinderella," her first track in over a year.
"Cinderella" is a powerful hip-hop track that composed mostly of rap and as many people
have pointed out the video is sub par. However, the song almost more than makes up
for the video. The raps are out of this world as always and Tymee sure as hell knows what she
is doing. To this day Tymee is the only person who can get me to listen to a song that
is entirely rap.
Check out Korea's fastest female rapper below.

HANHAE - EYESCREAM

HanHae recently released a really nice collaboration with Jeong Eun Ji.
The two's vocals meld beautifully in this melodic love song.
One of my favorite things about this song is how the chorus almost acts
like a conversation between the two. It is a little off putting hearing
Eun Ji's voice and not seeing her in the video but I have noticed a lot of songs
doing that lately. I am glad that at least the girl in the video isn't lip syncing.
That is one thing I still can't get over in Mad Clowns' "Fire" I see Hani but don't hear her.

Anyway, this is an honestly beautiful song and a really touching
video and you should check it out.

I.B.I Debut

Just a day ago fans dreams were realized as project group I.B.I launched their debut.
I.B.I began as a fan idea after Produce 101 left them wanting more, wishing
more of the girls could make their debut in fiction group I.B.I. However, 1theK has
officially made this a reality.

I.B.I stands for "I Believe It" and is made up of members Han Hyeri, Kim So Hee,
Lee Haein, Lee Suhyun, and Yoon Chaekyung. At this point, there is no official
word on how long this group will last so we will just have to wait and see.

The girls debuted with the song "Molae Molae" which is a very catchy, cheerful,
and upbeat song. I personally think that the school girl/spring/summer concept seems to suit them well, and I would love to see them produce more songs like this.
Check them out below and let me know what you think.

SPICA - Get Lucky (Cover)

This is pretty much what it sounds like.
Spica recently released a 360-degree video of them covering Daft Punks song
"Get Lucky." All I really have to say is that this video is definitely worth checking out.
I will post the link below as always.

Cosmic Girls - Secret

Finally, Cosmic Girls live up to their potential.
After a subpar debut, the girls came back with "Secret," a well-choreographed,
artistic masterpiece with the vocals to match. This song more than makes up for
my disappointment with "Catch Me." Starship has honestly outdone themselves with this
One and have most likely exceeded their budget. Aside from the well-composed
song, that fits the girl's voices perfectly, the video is out of this world... Literally.

The video features unbelievable visuals and a compelling story containing
otherworldly fantasy creatures, magic, and space travel.
Everyone should at some point see this video regardless of liking kpop.
You can check it out for yourself below.

I.O.I - Whatta Man

Now for the song that has officially made me an I.O.I fan.
Also on August 8th I.O.I released their newest song "Whatta Man." This "I Don't Need A Man"
meets "Expected" hit combines the classic with the modern as a new twist on an old song.
"Whatta Man" is fierce and not afraid to flaunt it, a nice break from the seductive and
cutesy songs we have been seeing out of various groups lately.
Check it out below.

BLACKPINK Debut

So if you haven't heard of this group yet there is a large chance you have
never heard of the internet. So if you are reading this on a printout I feel sorry for you.

Anyway, now that that is out of the way, BlackPink is the new four-member girl group
with YG Entertainment. Since their debut on August 8th Lisa, Jennie, Ji Soo, and Rose have topped almost every music chart you can think of and probably some you have never heard of.
This highly anticipated debut was not disappointing. The girls released two music videos for songs "Boombaya" and "Whistle" these girls have much promise. With a style I would compare to
Exid, Evol, and possibly even 4Minute they still resemble their sister group 2NE1 but
definitely don't fail to set themselves apart.

These super catchy and unique songs have become the talk of the kpop community for
seeming more like a senior group than rookies but with all girls training for at least 4 years
These girls are far from rookies. The songs and videos are super high budget, polished, and
rise above what we have come to expect from rookies. On the other hand YG Entertainment
would never debut a group they thought wasn't ready.
Anyway, I know I am an immediate fan. See for your self and let me know what you think below.

Start of School

So, I know I haven't been posting much lately... Or at all for that matter.
However, with the start of school approaching, I am cutting back on my work hours
and will hopefully be able to post more.

In honor of this and in hope of increasing my motivation you can all expect
3 more posts coming later today.
Look forward to it.

Mamamoo - Woo Hoo

So Mamamoo recently released "Woo Hoo" as a CF song for the new LG G5,
but this song is so much more than that. While the video, and part of the song, do
a really nice job of showcasing the features and accessories of the phone, the whole
thing is a gem to the genre of Kpop. If this song is not topping every single music chart,
I seriously question Kpop fans. The vocals in this song are super on point, the lyrics
are super cute, and the video is super fun. Mamamoo has ones again released a video
MooMoo's and the everyday Kpop fan would love. This group is amazingly talented
and I can't wait to see what they do next.
Check out this wonderful video below.

Matilda Debut

Back on the 17th of March, Box Entertainment debuted group, Matilda.
If one of these girls look familiar, odds are it is because she does. This group makes
the first official comeback of Haena since her departure from Kiss&Cry.
Although this song and concept are far from what she has done in the past
it is nice to see her back. However, I would love to see her reach her full vocal
potential again.

As far as the song and video are concerned, this is not the best debut I have seen nor
is it by far the worst. The song is super upbeat, bubbly, and catchy; while the video is
super fun and colorful. I look forward to what these girls have to offer in the future.
Check out their debut song "Macarena" below.

BTOB - Remember That

So the day of my last update BTOB released "Remember That" which somehow
I missed in my notifications. Seeing as how most of you have probably seen this
already, I won't ramble too much about it. I just wasn't to say the
video displays the bittersweet feelings of reliving old memories in this
cheerful yet somber song.
If you haven't already, check out the video below.

OH MY GIRL - LIAR LIAR

Also released yesterday was Oh My Girl's new song "LIAR LIAR."
I don't know about anyone else but the song reminds me of Red Velvet's "Dumb Dumb"
and seems similar to Dalshabet's "Someone Like You." The song also has a melody
that resembles 4Minute's "What A Girl Wants."As it is a good song,
it just seems really familiar. Anyway, it is an upbeat and catchy song,
check it out below and let me know what you think.

Block B - A Few Years Later

Yesterday Block B released "A Few Years Later."
This melodramatic song is about a guys sorrow after a breakup
and his wonder of what the future might bring. He wonders if they will regret
parting, or if they will ever see each other again. This song rather accurately
describes what we all feel when we say goodbye. The vocals are
mellow and somber to match the message and the instrumental
is slow and emotional.
As always the video can be found below.

Jun Hyo Seong - Find Me

Jun Hyo Seong recently released "Find Me."
I feel as though this song about a girl afraid of losing her love has an almost
Techno-Pop vibe. The song is both energetic and dramatic
and has a catchy chorus.
Listen to Hyo Seong's "find Me" below.

~ 태린 ~

Hyomin - Sketch

Hyomin's new song "Sketch" is definitely unique.
The song somehow is able to be both sweet and sexy at the same time. The video,
however, is just sexy, very sexy. The song has a sweet lullaby tone
while also being soft and sensual. I have to say I am very impressed with
both the song and the video which has a "Girl With The Dragon Tattoo" vibe.
You can find Hyomin's new video below.

~ 태린 ~

A.cian - TOUCH

Recent videos have been proving that spring is the season of love, and A.cian's "TOUCH" is no exception. This super quirky video makes reference to Rapunzel as
the guys reach for a girls approval. This is a cute take on young love and a very
playful video. Now I don't know about anyone else but I get a B1A4 vibe.
Check it out below, and let me know what you think.

Marychou - Tonight Vals

Marychou released their new video on March 20th.
Though I am not confident on the English name, both the song and video help to display
a beautiful love story and a wonderfully romantic expression of spring love.
This super sweet video is definitely worth the watch, check it out below.

BeautyHandsome - Felt Like Forever

On March 24th mixed gender band BeautyHandsome released "Felt Like Forever."
This upbeat love song with a super quirky video is a win in my book
The vocals leave something to be desired but they are good enough that the rest of the song
makes up for them. The goofing off in the video is really nice to see with the song and
everything flows together nicely. Aside from that, it is nice to see another band competing
with CN Blue and FT Island. Even better they are mixed gender.
Check out the video for "Felt Like Forever" below.

CLC - High Heels (Full Version)

CLC has released the long-awaited full version of "High Heels."
If you are interested, the short version can be found here: http://4lovekorea.blogspot.com/2016/03/clc-high-heels-short-version.html
As for the full version, I feel as though it adds a lot to the song, which is to be expected.
The video is both cute and quirky, and the girls all seem to be having a lot of fun.
You can check out the full version below.

Eric Nam - Good For You

Released on March 23rd, Eric Nam's new song "Good For You" has a much different
meaning than I initially thought.
When I first heard the name "Good For You" my initial thought was sarcastic,
I assumed the song was something like "you're pretty, good for you, see if I care" on
the contrary the song is a guy's way of saying why he thinks he would be good for a girl.
The song is slow, rhythmic, and soothing. Each note breaths of emotion and each chord
harmonizes perfectly with the last. I personally think Eric Nam outdid himself with this one.
As always, check out this video below.

~ 태린 ~

Lee Seong Wook - To See

"To See" was released March 16th.
This soft melodic song seems to be about a love that faded away. I cannot say this
for a fact because I cannot find the lyrics. however, the song and video both share
a somber feel with the reminiscence of a broken heart.
Even without much to say about it, this is a really touching song that is a worthwhile listen.

~ 태린 ~

Hong Jin Young - Thumbs Up

New song by Trot-Pop singer Hong Jin Young released March 23rd.
This song is very upbeat and fun. I found myself dancing and singing along my first
time hearing it. This super catchy song also has a very traditional sounding instrumental,
it sounds almost historical and I could honestly see this song being in a Kdrama for one
reason or another. This music video has a very interesting use of color as well as a
slightly unfocused camera angle giving the atmosphere a retro feel.
This is one song I would surely recommend and you can check it out below.

Red Velvet - One of These Nights

On the 16th Red Velvet released "One of These Nights" (7/7 in Korean).
This song is a saddening song of love, loss, and tragedy; however, theory fights between the
possible meanings of this song. Some believe it is a tribute to those lost during
the sinking of the Sewol ferry, while others believe it to be referencing the old Chilseok
folk tale. Whatever the story the song speaks of the sad separation from love,
as well as the feelings of emptiness and loneliness associated with being separated from
those we care about. We may never know the true meaning of this song, or we may lie
waiting for an official statement from SM, but even without a true meaning, we can
still embrace the emotion this beautiful song has to offer.
As always you can find the video below.

Yuju & Sunyoul - Cherish

On the tenth of this month, Gfriend's Yuju and Up10tion's Sunyoul released the duet
"Cherish." This duet is a sweet and uplifting song about falling in love.
I feel as thought both singers were in their own element in the tone of this song
and brought out the best in each other's talents throughout both the song and accompanying video.
Check out the duet for yourself below.

So as anyone who keeps up with my blog has noticed, I haven't been posting lately.
This is because I have just recently gotten a new job. Now until I can learn to balance my

as possible but bear with me for a while-while I try to get things under control.

Fiestar - Mirror

My favorite video of the night, Fiestar's "Mirror."
This song is sad, provocative, seductive, and intense all at the same time.
The people who wrote this video and song both have a strong sense of captivating an audience,
and the girls successfully embody the emotions and essence of this song. The song makes
you feel and embrace the idea of a lost love and the feeling of emptiness, and allows you
to get lost in the music.
Video Below.

JJCC - ToDay

In short JJCC's new video is super cute.
The video and song as a whole have a cheery lovely atmosphere. The look to be
having a bunch of fun and the concept was well executed.
On a side note, this video contains the same carousel as the debuts for both
Twice and Voisper.
Check out this adorable video below.

Cosmic Girls Debut - Part 2

After 3 weeks Starship Entertainment has finally released Cosmic Girls second
debut MV "Catch Me."
Honestly. It's bad.
The song is really disappointing, vocal quality is depressing, and the overall tone of the
song is super boring. As for the video, t is poorly executed and completely
out of focus. The only savior for this song is EXY's rapping ability, and for that
alone I say it is worth watching.

Jimin Ft. Xiumin - Call You Bae

AoA's Jimin and EXO's Xiumin released a duet yesterday titled "Call You Bae."
Honestly, even though Jimin is my AoA bias (aside from Youkyung who is AoA black only)
I was not impressed with this song. Although the video is both cute and fun the song is
rather slow with a ballad-like feel. I do not think this kind of song suits Jimin's vocals
and it honestly doesn't sound good to me, however, I would like to hear what other
people think and how you think it compares to "PUSS" which I think is more
suited to Jimin's vocals. Both videos can be found below and I
would love to hear your comments.

Lee Seung Gi - Meet Someone Like Me

After Lee Seung Gi's enlistment in the military 1theK releases "Meet Someone Like Me."
"Meet Someone Like Me" is a selfless song about a guy who wants a girl to be
happy, even without him. The song is said to have been a gift from PSY to
Lee Seung Gi. Fans also believe the song is intended for ex-girlfriend Im Yoona.
As always I will be posting the video below and let me know what you think in the comments.

Mamamoo Recipe and My Hometown

Mamamoo recently released videos for both Recipe and My Hometown.
Both videos are super cute and display the girls in a natural environment without makeup
and show them goofing around and having fun. "Recipe" displays the girls cooking
and joking around, including Moonbyul having fun with a container of salt, and Hwasa
getting handsy. While "My Hometown" shows the girls traveling around, visiting sites,
and having fun. Check out both the light hearted videos below.

Voisper Debut

Voisper (voice and whisper) just released their debut video "In Your Voice."
The video has a very eloquent and relaxing atmosphere that fit the song perfectly.
The song itself is a very soft and sweet with a romantic and somber tone.
All the guys' voices are soothing and beautiful and the song and video, combined with
the member's voices, actually caused me to tear up. Overall it is a wonderful debut and
in my opinion, a must hear.

CLC - High Heels (short version)

CLC is back with 2 new members and a short MV.
After gaining members Elkie and Eunbin, from Project 101, the girls have returned

Hopefully though, we will get to see a full version once Produce 101 concludes.
The short version, however, can be found below.

NINE MUSES of star empire Review

★★★☆☆
Recently I watched the 2012 documentary focusing on Nine Muses' road to debut.
I have to give it three stars because although it is a good source of information
on both the Kpop industry and the group it covers, the documentary overall
does a poor job of keeping attention and explaining what is going on.
Somehow, even though there is music in half the film, there is very little useful sound.
Most of the documentary focuses on dance practices and the girls sitting around talking,
there isn't too much said about the amount of work they are doing or how far along they are.
There is a lot of time confusion as to where the group is at, including during their first
line up change.

Unfortunately, the group dynamics shown in the film were not to last. As of today there are
only three of the original members remaining, four if you include Hyuna
who joined during the film. However, I would recommend this documentary to any
MINE (Nine Muses official fan club) members and anyone looking to learn more about the
Kpop industry.

MAMAMOO - You're The Best

Mamamoo is back with a vengeance.
Hours ago Mamamoo released "You're The Best," a fun and upbeat song
done in their classic retro style. Listening to the song it seems as
though the girls gave an "Um Oh Ah Yeh" style facelift to their debut song;
"Mr. Ambiguous." Later in the video itself, the group makes a direct reference
to the 2014 release with the signature finger stash and a drop of the associated phrase.
I would love to hear how you feel about the new video in the comments section,
so as usual, check out the video below.

Cosmic Girls Debut - Part 1

Starship Entertainments new rookie group Cosmic Girls just released the
music video for Mo mo mo, the first part of their 2 part debut.

Cosmic Girls is a 12 member Chinese/Korean girl group
with each member representing a different sign in the western zodiac.
Members consist of:
SeolA - Age 21, Sagittarius
Xuan Yi - Age 21, Aquarius
Soobin - Age 19, Virgo
EXY - Age 20, Scorpio
Bona - Age 19, Leo
Luda - Age 18, Pisces

Mei Qi - Age 17, Libra
Eunseo - Age 17, Gemini
Cheng Xiao - Age 17, Cancer
Yeoreum - Age 17, Capricorn
Dayoung - Age 16, Taurus

As for "Mo mo mo" the song is bright and cheery, and the video is a
fun lively representation of the girls on an alien planet
possibly falling in love with an astronaut. But this won't be confirmed
for those of us who don't speak Korean until the subtitles are released. Until
then, check out the new video below.

Ladies' Code Comeback

It has finally happened.
After almost 2 years, following the tragic deaths of members EunBi and RiSe,
Ladies' Code's remaining members Ashley, SoJung, and Zuny, have
finally made their long awaited comeback. In their new video, "Galaxy," it
is safe to say they did both EunBi and RiSe proud.

Both the song and video appear to allude to their fallen stars,
and both have a rather slow and somber tone.
The whole video has a peaceful, semi-retro atmosphere and
alternates between a muted color scheme and black and white.

I feel as though this could be the start of a new beginning for
these strong girls who have already been through far too much.
I hope you will support them through their return and check out their
new album "Myst3ry" as well as the "Galaxy" video below.

Reboot

I am finally reviving this blog!
I have modified a few things and removed any posts not related to music,
movies, or dramas. this blog will now focus solely on those and related topics.
I will be trying to keep up to date with new music video releases and expect one drama
or movie review every month or so. Also, if I hear any Korean celebrity news I find worth I will
be posting that here as well. Best wishes to you all.
